Sunrise Partnership To Absent Friends Lunch

Sunrise Partnership is hosting a To Absent Friends Lunch to support and encourage people to remember family and friends who have died, and to share stories and memories of them, if they choose, in a supportive and relaxed environment.

As well as a picnic style lunch, there will be a storyteller and some activities designed to facilitate remembering and talking about absent friends.

The event is open to anyone and there is no charge to attend, but please register in advance if you wish to attend. This can be done by phoning Sunrise Partnership on 07827 755735 or by emailing info@sunrisepartnership.org before Wednesday 31st October.

Afternoon Tea for To Absent Friends

The Whyte Family Trust, in conjunction with the Forres Area Community Trust - Cameron Project are holding an afternoon tea, of music, storytelling and remembrance.

A Dance Party for the Dearly Departed

Come and dance a dance for a loved one passed.

Dance in celebration.

Dance to remember.

Dance with friends.

Dance alone.

Dance to their favourite songs.

Dance their signature moves.

Intergenerational Dance Party are hosting a dance party for you to celebrate a loved one who has passed.

You are invited to book a 15 minute time slot between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday 3rd November.

You can book a slot alone or with a group of friends and/or family.

You can choose 3 songs to dance to during your 15 minutes. The songs should remind you of a loved one who is passed. Perhaps you have a memory of them dancing to the songs, maybe you danced to them together.

During the 15 minutes the floor is yours to dance in celebration of your loved one. It will be a private space. You will be greeted on your arrival and after you have danced there will be some time to reflect, have a cup of tea and gather together before heading out of the space.

Hibernian Football Club

At the Hibernian v St Johnstone match on Saturday 3 November, fans of the club will be remembering their absent friends with a tribute wall. Posters will be placed around the stadium for fans to leave written or photo tributes to Hibs fans who have died.

Vox Coelestis: To Absent Friends

Ex-Kings Singer and Conductor of Tenebrae, Nigel Short, leads choir Vox Coelestis in a programme of music which evokes memories of absent friends. Some pieces have been chosen by the choir's singers, but audience members have the unique chance to choose and dedicate a piece of choral music which tells the story of an absent friend.

Proceeds from the concert support the work of St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh which, through expert palliative care, gives people at the end of their lives the dignity and environment they both desire and deserve.
