A Musical Toast to Absent Friends

Houston and Killellan Kirk in Houston Renfrewshire are delighted to be hosting a “Musical Toast to Absent Friends” on Wednesday 3^rd November 2021 from 7pm – 9pm.

The event will be a time for those in the Houston community who have lost loved ones through the pandemic to come together and enjoy an evening of music and chat as they raise a glass to “Absent Friends”. Those who come along will also have the opportunity to meet other people who understand what they are going through, spend some time sharing their stories and memories and enjoy some light refreshments at the same time.

The pandemic has been a particularly difficult time for those who have been bereaved, as they may not have been able to commemorate the lives of those, they have lost in the which they had chosen. Thanks to the Absent Friends Grant that we have been awarded, we hope that this evening will be a time when fond memories can be shared and people in our community feel supported in their grief.

Our fabulous musicians have put together a variety of reflective and uplifting music that will include a lovely Beatles medley, and refreshments will be provided.
