St Mary's Primary School Storytelling Chair

St Mary's Primary School, Bathgate, are taking part in To Absent Friends by installing a storytelling chair.

A number of children at the school are bereaved; some have lost parents and/or siblings.

The school would like to create a special place for them to sit and remember their loved ones and talk about them with their friends. The school is also buying a number of story books to help with the grief process.

The children will hold a competition to design the wording/pattern to be painted on the chair and it will be unveiled at a special To Absent Friends assembly on Friday 1 November. The children will be informed that the chair will be situated in the playground for them to use.
