Marie Curie's Bereavement Support Team are hosting a To Absent Friends evening event on 2^nd November. The event will feature storytellers and poets, who will be on hand to help people celebrate and share their stories about loved ones who have died.

People will have the opportunity to have one-to-one conversations with staff and volunteers and other people who have been bereaved. A calligrapher will be available to write the names of people who have died onto leaf shapes to be added to a tree which will form a centrepiece. These will be available for people to take home at the end of the evening.

Ofrenda/Shrine Making Workshop

Sign up to build your very own 'ofrenda'/ 'offering' shrine. Ofrendas are decorative altars adorned with personal images, sugared skulls, favourite foods and colourful trinkets. The workshop will be run by Mexico / Scotland based visual and social artist Greer Pester who will share her experiences of the Mexican Days of the Dead rituals and celebrations. A great opportunity to remember and celebrate our passed loved ones and get crafty.
